For the seeker, the process of transformation is central to the spiritual journey. The evolution of the soul is often compared to the transformation of a butterfly from earthbound caterpillar to transcendent winged creature. In fact, butterflies are seen in many traditions and cultures as symbolic of the soul, or as messengers from the departed or from Spirit. 

An essential part of the transformational journey of enlightenment is to learn to listen for and heed the whisperings of the soul. To do this, a person must access the realm of Spirit. This can be facilitated through dreams, meditative and trance states, and modes of creative expression. 

Many people, as they become more familiar with the Dreamtime and begin to open to the still, small voice within, begin to experience the presence and assistance of spirit guides, angels, and other beings of light who help to bridge the worlds of Spirit and Earth. Eventually, the person learns to fully assimilate their spiritual self into their physical being. Thus they themselves become a living bridge between the worlds, able to assist others on the journey. 

The Blue Morpho is a large butterfly native to the rainforests of Central and South America. The brilliant blue flash of the male butterfly's wings often seem to come out of nowhere, like a flash of inspiration or sudden divine knowing. The intense blue also invokes the metaphysical Blue Ray or Blue Flame of Light and its associated archangel, Michael, representing power, protection, and Divine Will. 

Blue Morpho is a depiction of that dreamtime space, and the surrender of the soul that is necessary for true transformation.
