Sacred Union combines free-flowing watercolor with sacred geometry, invoking two manifestations of the spiral. The harmonious interaction between masculine (blue) and feminine (pink) energies form a vortex and meet joyfully together at the core of creation.
First of a series inspired by a meditation by angelic practitioner Ryan Angelo, this piece was painted directly while in a semi-conscious trance state, and was completely un-premeditated. The palette and energy set the stage for the entire series.
Sacred Union combines free-flowing watercolor with sacred geometry, invoking two manifestations of the spiral. The first "spiral play" represents the harmonious interaction between masculine (blue) and feminine (pink) energies, which form a vortex and meet joyfully together at the core of creation. Superimposed upon this is a double spiral or phi vortex pattern, representing the expansive growth resulting from the union of these two opposites; this pattern represents the whole of creation.
The double spiral brings to mind the various spiral patterns that can be found throughout Nature, from pine cones to wave patterns to the spiral arms of galaxies. It symbolizes the life force within all things.
