Gift of Gabriel II (Flowering), 2018
Second of a series inspired by a meditation by angelic practitioner Ryan Angelo, this watercolor was painted directly while in a semi-conscious trance state, and was completely un-premeditated.
Flowering continues the sacred geometry theme begun in the first piece of the series, Sacred Union. However, this piece celebrates Divine Feminine energy with the appearance of a beautiful Goddess figure. The double spiral in that piece appears again in the flowing, double-armed galaxy appearing at her heart, symbolizing expansive love for all of creation. However, the dominant geometry of this piece is the Flower of Life pattern.
The Flower of Life, a pattern of interlocking circles, is an ancient symbol representing the process of creation. Its various iterations reflect the cell divisions of a developing embryo. Here, the Flower of Life spills in rainbow abundance from the Goddess's crown, evoking many layers of meaning associated with creativity, joy, fertility, and prosperity. The golden aura around her head also connotes Christhood, or the full alignment of the soul with Spirit.
