I believe animals come into our lives for a reason. They are here to help us through, shield us from negative energy, and open our hearts. And I believe that animals have souls just like we do, and that after they pass over they continue to stay with us in spirit.
"Rainbow Bridge" is dedicated with love and gratitude to all animals, and is specifically meant to honor and remember those who have passed on.
The Story behind "Rainbow Bridge"
The original painting for this print was commissioned as a gift of gratitude for a dedicated veterinarian who had helped a beloved animal pass over, gently, in the animal's own home.
My client had given me free rein to create an appropriate image for the occasion. When I went to start the painting right away it came to me to tune into the gratitude the animals this individual as worked with and their owners feel for her and all she does for them.
As I began to paint, the animals collectively spoke to me, with a message of their own. In addition to their gratitude for the care the received at the hands of this dedicated vet, they also wanted to convey the message on behalf of all animals that they are very grateful for all kind acts towards them. They are here for a reason, to open our hearts and, in many cases, to shield us from negative energy.
And they also wanted to say to anyone who wants to help animals that it's super important to maintain a positive resonance of thought at all times when thinking of them.
Specifically, if an animal has been abused or abandoned, they appreciate all acts of kindness and healing thoughts. But turning thoughts of hate towards their abuser actually harms the animals. Because the animals don't understand that - they are just here for love and many serve as protectors and (dogs especially) will "catch the bullet" for us. And they are very sensitive to emotions. So when they feel the hate energy around their field they will sometimes absorb it into themselves, and even if that doesn't happen the negative thoughts are distressing and stressful to them.
No animal abuse should be tolerated, and when it does I believe there should be consequences, but also compassion, with the realization that abuse springs from abuse. Hate is not the solution; if you can't think of the perpetrator without feeling hate then don't think of them at all, just focus on loving the animals and helping them heal.
It is my hope that this painting will convey a healing energy to everyone who views it, and specifically to help heal grief and bring a sense of gratitude and peace to those mourning the passing of their beloved animals. I believe our animals stay with us in spirit for the rest of our lives after they pass. Healing own own hearts helps them to pass on gently knowing they are loved and their people are at peace.
